The financial services industry is regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).  A number of important developments to Malta`s tax system took effect from the 1st January 2007, and were implemented in agreement with the EU Commission.

Hence the Maltese regulatory system is fully compliant with EU standards.
