A history of knowledge, expertise and attention to detail.    

MC Trustees was established by Martin Cadman who set up a pensions consultancy in 1986.  Since 1996 MC Trustees Limited has specialised in the provision of Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPS) and Small Self Administered Schemes (SSAS).      

MC Trustees is a UK leader in the provision of bespoke SIPPS. The company launched its first SIPP in 1995 and has been administering SSAS since 1986. 

Today MC Trustees looks after over 2,000 plans holding over £400m of clients’ assets.

In September 2017 the company was acquired by Mattrioli Woods plc and is now part of Mattrioli Woods Group.

MC Trustees (Malta) Limited was established in 2009 and set up the first Retirement Scheme in Malta, the MCT Malta Private Retirement Scheme.  We are fully committed to the country and the QROPS market.

The business works in conjunction with MC Trustees (Administration) Limited which currently provides some compliance, accounting, technical and administrative support from its UK office. 

A second scheme, the MCT Malet International Retirement Scheme, designed to provide low cost investments has also been set up. 

The individuals listed below are Trustees to both Schemes and Directors of MC Trustees (Malta) Limited.

 

Martin Cadman

Martin Cadman the Managing Director, is a former Chairman of the SIPP Provider Group and has spent 21 years as a committee member of the Association of Pensioneer Trustees, the SIPP Provider Group (four years as Chairman) and the Association of Member Directed Pension Schemes. He has also represented the industry on:

  • The Inland Revenue Consumer Forum; 

  • The Pensions Industry Working Group; and 

  • The Financial Industry Trade Discussion Group. 

From 2007 to 2013 he was responsible for the liaison between the member directed pensions industry and the Financial Conduct Authority (formerly the Financial Services Authority).

He is a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.

 

Dr Noel Buttigieg-Scicluna

Trained as a lawyer, Noel Buttigieg-Scicluna is an experienced consultant who has worked with a Maltese Law Firm. Between 1976 and 1990, Noel practiced law in the Maltese Courts dealing mainly with Commercial and Civil law cases. Between 1987 and 1996 he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Maltese Holding Company Limited, a holding company bringing together various companies set up by the Maltese and Libyan Governments.  His public career has included roles such as Maltese Ambassador to Denmark, Hungary and Austria, and non-resident Ambassador to Sweden, Finland, Norway and Hungary.  Noel was also a Member of Parliament in Malta between 1982 and 1987.

 

W Daniel Dane

Dan Dane has 54 years’ experience in the UK life and pensions industry. A founding Director of two major UK life insurance companies, and has served on the Board of several “listed” companies. Served as a Director of a US Bank, and also adviser to a US Venture Capital company.

In 1970 was Chairman of the Institute of Insurance of London Advance Study Group, into the Marketing and Merchandising of Insurance.

More recently has been the Managing Director of an expatriate pension specialist IFA for 17 years.

He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing
